Phil Rich
Phil, with a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Berklee College of Music is a trumpet player, composer/arranger and music educator. While at Berklee, Phil studied music arranging with the legendary Herb Pomeroy. After many years honing his skills writing for 18 piece big bands, Phil has come up with the ability to take classic standards of jazz and pop music and create hip new arrangements for his highly successful smaller group. This unique music represents the high-energy driven modern swing bands, but retains the quality and integrity of the music and artists of the big band era. The end result is that the Phil Rich Swing Band plays music that is fun!
Phil has performed with many bands and artists over the years including: the Don Doane Big Band, the Mount Washington Hotel Orchestra, The Temptations, Rich Little, the Gene Krupa II Orchestra and the Ice Capades. Phil has been guest conductor for several school music festivals and continues to perform and write for various groups throughout the area.
